New York And Europe Engagements for Resource Mobilisation

KAIPTC participated in a high-level seminar and expert symposium organised as part of the 76th anniversary of the United Nations peacekeeping.

The event, co-hosted by the Permanent Missions of Ghana, India, Norway and Switzerland to the United Nations, the Effectiveness of Peace Operations Network (EPON), the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GSCP) and KAIPTC aimed to address pressing challenges in global peace and security.

It brought together nearly 200 experts from member states, academic institutions, think tanks, and the United Nations with the aim of discussing pathways and recommendations for how United Nations peacekeeping can best meet and adapt to key challenges in the global peace and security landscape of today and tomorrow.

As part of KAIPTC’s participation, the Centre conducted stakeholder engagements in New York with existing partners and explored new opportunities for collaborations and partnerships.

Additionally, the Center embarked on a resource mobilization mission to Europe, visiting Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. The delegation, led by Major General Richard Addo Gyane, sought to enhance cooperation with European partners in promoting peace and security in Africa and identify new areas of collaboration.

In another significant engagement activity, the KAIPTC’s Director for Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPMED) Ms. Horname Noagbesenu and Teresa Krafft, the Head of Component Five, support to the KAIPTC –EPSAO project represented the Centre at the FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum in Germany.

This international platform provided an avenue for discussing emerging trends and pressing issues in the field of peace and security. The KAIPTC delegation also participated in a side event focusing on the Women, Peace and Security agenda where the Director of PPMED shared her insights on the subject, “Empowering Change”.

Through these engagements, KAIPTC continues to be a leading voice in global peacekeeping efforts, actively contributing to discussions on how to best address the evolving global challenges in peace and security.
