The meeting between the GIZ team and the WYPSI team solidified their partnership and provided a platform to discuss GIZ’s ongoing support for WYPSI’s work. WYPSI expressed gratitude for GIZ’s ongoing collaboration in advancing gender equality and the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda and highlighted past support such as the development of the KAIPTC Gender Policy and various capacity-building initiatives as a strong foundation for new partnership.
GIZ reaffirmed its commitment to supporting WYPSI and expressed interest in further collaboration on the Youth Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda. WYPSI outlined its implementation plans, including developing a podcast series and facilitating inter-generational dialogues, and sought GIZ’s collaboration.
GIZ highlighted their expertise in sustainable development and advisory services, presenting an overview of the EPSAO Project and its potential connections to WYPSI’S work on gender mainstreaming in peace and security. The discussion emphasised the importance of sustainability and social responsibility. During open discussions, Director WYPSI proposed longer-term engagement with GIZ to ensure the project’s sustainability, and further strategic discussions on how the partnerships can best support WYPSI’s goal and KAIPTC’s strategic focus on crosscutting issues and the WPS and YPS Agendas.
