The KAIPTC on 4th July 2023 hosted a high level delegation led by Portugal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Cravinho, and Minister of National Defense, Helena Carreiras. The working visit was to learn about the activities of the Centre and explore possible areas of cooperation.
The visit touched on Portugal’s experiences in peacekeeping and efforts made to share these experiences in UN Peacekeeping missions. Other focal areas of discussions were the UN agenda on Women, Peace and Security, the security situation in the Sahel, maritime security and the Accra Initiative. Entry points for future collaboration were also discussed.
