KAIPTC Hosts 12th GIMAC Youth Advocacy Conference

The KAIPTC hosted the 12th edition of the Gender is My Agenda Campaign (GIMAC) Youth Advocacy Conference.

This impactful three-day event focused on empowering African youth through education, centering on the theme: “Empowering African Youth through Education: A Catalyst for Socio-Economic and Gender-Responsive Transformation.”

Major General Richard Addo Gyane, Commandant of KAIPTC, officially opened the conference emphasizing the transformative power of education in promoting gender equality.

He highlighted the importance of equal access to education for girls, which empowers young women to aspire to leadership positions and meaningful careers, underscoring that educated women uplift entire communities, driving socio-economic growth.

The Commandant also spoke about KAIPTC’s ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security in the region, emphasizing the need for inclusive participation, particularly from youth and women, in building a balanced and just society.

Other speakers included Dr Helen Kezie-Nwoha, Chairperson of the GIMAC Network, Constant Tchona, Director of Plan International, and Dr Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda, Deputy Executive Director for UN System Coordination and Programme, who participated virtually.

The conference marked a significant milestone in fostering youth advocacy, education, and gender-responsive development in Africa.
