KAIPTC Enhances Gender Mainstreaming Capacity

The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), in collaboration with the Women, Youth, Peace, and Security Institute (WYPSI), is excited to launch a workshop on “Enhancing the Capacity of KAIPTC Gender Focal Points to Mainstream Gender.”

As the world commemorates the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security, we reaffirm the critical role of participation, protection, and prevention in advancing gender equality. This initiative strengthens KAIPTC’s commitment to gender mainstreaming by equipping our Gender Focal Points with essential skills and leadership tools.

The workshop marks a significant step in operationalizing Resolution 1325 and fostering impactful change across Africa’s peace and security landscape. With 32 participants (17 males and 15 females) from various units and departments, the training is set to drive a more inclusive and gender-responsive approach within KAIPTC.

A heartfelt appreciation to the Government of Sweden for their unwavering support in advancing the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda in Africa. Together, we build a more inclusive and equal world.
