This phenomenon is estimated to grow by about 15% annually in the next 3 to 5 years. The competitive industry of web and mobile applications have also redirected the choice of users to focus on security to protect personal data, login credentials, prevent denial of service attacks, prevent data manipulation, defacement, confidentiality of information, adherence to data protection requirements, among others when using such digitised platforms.
Investigations by e-Crime Bureau have revealed that a significant number of vulnerabilities identified on web and mobile applications exist during the product design stage with risks exploited by cybercriminals after platforms have been introduced to the market.
