JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:                    Senior Marketing Officer

Reports To:                Head of BDU

Supervises:               Marketing Officers    

Job Purpose

To lead the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies that position KAIPTC as a leading training and research institution, attract funding and sponsors, and establish sustainable partnerships with non-traditional funding sources.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and oversee the execution of annual marketing plans aligned with KAIPTC’s strategic goals.
  2. Guide the marketing team in creating innovative campaigns to enhance the Centre’s brand visibility.
  3. Lead efforts to attract corporate sponsorships, grants, and non-traditional funding.
  4. Negotiate and secure funding agreements with sponsors and partners.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with collaborative partners, donors, and industry stakeholders.
  6. Represent KAIPTC at high-level meetings, conferences, and events to market its initiatives.
  7. Monitor key student/participant and alumni activities (in conjunction with Stakeholder Management, Academic  Registry and Alumni Relations) to ensure the maximization of sales opportunities, growth, and the consistency of service and other activity levels
  8. Supervise the Marketing Officer and other team members, ensuring they meet their targets.
  9. Provide mentorship and training to improve team capacity.
  10. Set and achieve annual targets for revenue generation, sponsorship acquisition, and participant and student enrolment.
  11. Monitor and report on progress through regular updates to management.
  12. Oversee the creation of impactful promotional materials and content.
  13. Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels.
  14. Use analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and inform future strategies.
  15. Develop sales forecasts based on brand, trends, and other market indicators; in conjunction with the Head of the BDU
  16. Prepare periodic reports on marketing performance and funding outcomes.
  17. Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor within scope and content of job.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification/Experience

Master’s Degree in marketing, business development, Communications, Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited institution with professional certification in marketing is required. At least 8 years working experience, 5 of which should have been in a similar role with 3 years in a senior marketing role in a nonprofit organization or educational institution. Proven track record of securing sponsorships and building partnerships. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills. Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
