EPSAO-KAIPTC Partnership Concludes

KAIPTC hosted the End of Project Closure Meeting for the GIZ EPSAO-KAIPTC partnership, marking a significant milestone in the joint commitment to advancing peace and security in West Africa.

Launched in 2022 and co-financed by BMZ and the EU, the collaboration aimed to enhance KAIPTC’s training capacities, expand e-learning tools, and support organizational development, aligning with the ECOWAS peace and security agenda.

Over 20 dedicated team members from KAIPTC and GIZ gathered to celebrate the project’s achievements, share lessons learned, and discuss the future under the next phase—the ECOWAS Peace, Security, and Governance (EPSG) project.

The Deputy Commandant of KAIPTC, Air Commodore David Akrong, emphasized that the workshop was not only a closure but also a moment to reflect on the long-term impact of the collaboration and the opportunities it has created for future initiatives.

The GIZ EPSAO Head of Component, Ms Teresa Kraft highlighted the transformative impact of the partnership on the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) and the importance of capacity-building across the region.

The Director of Policy, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation at KAIPTC, Ms Horname Noagbesenu, added a personal reflection, acknowledging that the Centre’s work extends beyond its walls and impacts the lives of women and children who are most affected by conflict. She encouraged participants to remain focused, as the collaboration transcends project goals and serves a greater purpose for peace and security across the continent.
